Services

We offer embedded software development and system integration solutions to enhance the connectivity of your products. We can provide complete solutions or, if you prefer, we can join your development team contributing with our areas of expertise. Thanks to our experience, we reduce development times and costs, ensuring that the final outcome is a highly functional and competitive product.

The Bluetooth protocol was created in the late 1990’s and now is one of the most  used data transmission methods in the world. The latest versions (V4 and V5) allow wide possibilities for connected devices, such as the low power mode for battery powered devices and the mesh network for interconnectability of IoT devices. A big advantage of Bluetooth is the possibility to connect products directly from a smartphone.

From audio devices (earbuds, headphones, speakers), access control systems (door locks, gate entrances, etc.) or indoor tracking devices to industrial equipment or sensors, we can enable Bluetooth connectivity in your product. Our experience goes deep inside the Bluetooth stack and all its possibilities.

We have deep experience on the following SoCs:

Qualcomm: QCC51xx and QCC30xx series (i.e. QCC5181, QCC3091)

Texas Instruments: CC26xx

Nordic: nRF52xx

ST Microelectronics: BlueNRG, BlueNRG-2

Mediatek-Airoha: AB158x, AB157x

Bluetooth

RFID and NFC are the preferred standards when it comes to proximity transactions such as access control, product identification or payments. A great advantage of this technology is to use tags or cards without the need of a battery, as they draw the power by induction from the reader antenna. It is even possible to charge battery devices, such as earbuds, with the NFC inductive field, while using the communication channel.

Another possibility for NFC is to use a smartphone for the proximity transactions. It can be used together with a short or medium distance protocol like Bluetooth to facilitate the pairing process.

At GhzProjects we have deep knowledge on RFID and NFC protocols in the 13.56 MHz frequency, including the standards: ISO 15693, ISO14443, ISO18092.

We have worked with the following tag transponders:

NXP: MIFARE (UL, 1K, Plus, DESFIRE, etc.), ICODE

Texas Instruments: Tag-it

We have developed drivers for the following reader ICs:

NXP: CLRC663x, PN51XX, MFRC522, MFRC630

Do you need to connect your products to the Internet? Do you need longer communication ranges? We can also help. We can develop the drivers for diverse modules allowing the use of communication protocols such as WiFi, cellular networks, Zigbee, Lora, Sigfox and more.

Examples of modules we have used:

  • Espressif ESP32
  • Dragino Lora
  • Dragino NB-IoT
  • Sigfox BRKWS01

IoT

Connected devices often need to collect data from their environment. At GhzProjects we have the experience to help you integrate those sensors you need. We develop and test the code for the drivers of diverse peripherals such as:

  • IMU and accelerometers
  • Temperature, humidity, and weather related information
  • Capacitive touch
  • Light
  • LiDAR
  • Ultrasound

Sensors

For a connected device to function properly and efficiently, the lower layers of the firmware must be programmed carefully. We offer our experience in C / C++ programming for several integrated circuits, from 8-bit microcontrollers to 32-bit CORTEX M architectures and SoCs.
We take care of the use of every module, such as:

  • I/O pins
  • timers
  • interrupts
  • WDT
  •  SPI
  • UART
  • I2C
  • RS-485
  • USB

We have worked with microcontrollers from Texas Instruments, Microchip-Atmel, ST Microelectronics, NXP and more and we have the skills to develop within RTOS environments.

We focus on keeping a clean and well documented code, optimize time and controller resources  and reduce the power consumption of the product.

Keep control over you microcontroller

Low level firmware

There is no more comfortable way to interact with a product than to use your mobile phone. If you have the idea for a simple mobile application involving Bluetooth and / or NFC connectivity, we can make it for you.  If otherwise, you have a more complex app in your mind, involving a larger team, we can offer our experience and contribute to the connectivity layers of it. We cover both, native iOS and Android applications.

Our main strength here is the ability to simultaneously debug the embedded software and the mobile application. This is very useful for finding errors on either side of the system and to avoid the time consuming “ping-pong” between an embedded and a mobile developer trying to find a bug.

When it comes to the physical part of your electronic device, the PCB schematics and layout design, we can also collaborate.  We have experience designing two sided PCBs, used for simple products, prototypes or auxiliary boards. Our knowledge in this field, in conjunction with embedded development, allows us to contribute with specialized PCB designers in the design, review and testing phases. We contribute with the programming perspective with focus on low power consumption.

Our expertise includes supporting our clients in the manufacturing of quality prototypes and industrialization of large quantities of PCBs.
